Jason G. Millar Fitness
While studying to be a chef, kids at college teased Jason for being small and skinny for a 16-year old. That was when Jason was introduced to weights. After one year, he started seeing noticeable improvements in his body that encouraged him to continue. By age 24 Jason had developed a remarkable physique and started competing in national-level body building competitions. This is also when he decided to shift careers from catering to fitness and, therefore, went back to university where he studied sports psychology and nutrition, among numerous other fitness courses. Jason's formal training in fitness, his diploma in nutrition, and having himself gone from a "small and skinny" boy to body building championships, are only three of the factors that make him the dynamic and popular trainer he is today. Others would include his down-to-earth personality, personal warmth, and versatility in training techniques.

Jason's professional career started in England in 1994 by working for Manchester Metropolitan University, coaching students on using the fitness facility equipment. His second job was as a fitness and lifestyle consultant for a hotel & leisure centre that had 4000+ members, most of which needed a trainer. Lack of knowledge and nutritional advice was the main reason why clients would sign up with Jason. Being bored of the same routine or having injured themselves through improper use of the equipment was another reason to see him. Still a percentage of the clients were professional athletes that needed specialized training to boost their performance in particular sports.

In 2002, Jason moved to Canada where he worked for the Sports Clubs of Canada (think of names such as Extreme Fitness, Bally's, and the Wellington Club), where he did personal training, fitness assessments, and ran a boxing circuit. After working there for 6 years, Jason now runs his own fitness business in the Toronto downtown area and specializes in strength training, stabilizer training, cardio, and core strength incorporating the stability ball and resistance bands.

Over the years, Jason has taken part in many sports ranging from rugby to boxing to competitive bodybuilding. He currently stays active with a daily routine of strength training, core training, stability training, cardio, swimming and yoga. In his spare time he likes to read fiction and write fiction.
